Clique Pictures is a vibrant film and television production company that focuses on working with underrepresented creative talent in front and behind the camera. Clique Pictures is currently launching the hybrid documentary Wilfred Buck alongside Lisa Jackson’s Door Number 3 Productions as well as Lauren Grant’s short film Erase and Rewind. Lauren serves as an Executive Producer on the new Amazon Canada/Blumhouse/Sphere Media series The Sticky, which is in post-production. In 2022, Erin’s Guide to Kissing Girls by Julianna Notten and Executive Produced by Lauren was released. In 2021, Clique Pictures released the Wendy Morgan/Kelly McCormack feature film Sugar Daddy, the Pat Mills/Alyson Richards feature The Retreat, the Hot Docs documentary series Citizen Minutes and Lauren Grant’s short film and directorial debut Things We Feel But Do Not Say. Sugar Daddy won two Canadian Screen Awards: Best Supporting Actor and Best Original Song; four awards at the Canadian Film Festival including Best Film and Best Director; won Best Director at the Directors Guild of Canada Awards; and Best Lead Performance for Kelly McCormack at the ACTRA Awards.
In 2019, Clique Pictures released the documentary On the Line following the Canada/US Women’s hockey rivalry, and the feature film Riot Girls. Both films were nominated for multiple 2020 Canadian Screen Awards with On the Line winning two – Best Direction and Best Editing. Clique Pictures’ previous narrative films include Wet Bum starring Julia Sarah Stone, which premiered at the TIFF 2014, and Picture Day starring Tatiana Maslany, which premiered at the TIFF 2012 and won the Borsos Award for Best Film and Best Performance at the Whistler Film Festival. Narrative shorts include Frost (TIFF 2012), Parkdale, and the multi-award wining residential musical Savage (Berlinale 2010, SXSW 2010) by writer/director Lisa Jackson.
Previous documentary films include the feature Metamorphosis by co-directors Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper, the short documentary One Leg In, One Leg Out with director Lisa Rideout, the short documentary Take a Walk on the Wildside which won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Short Doc in 2018, and the feature documentary Traceable.
Lauren Grant co-produced the feature film Giant Little Ones (TIFF 2018) starring Josh Wiggins, Maria Bello and Kyle MacLachlan as well as co-produced The Parting Glass which is directed by Stephen Moyer and stars Ed Asner, Rhys Ifans, Melissa Leo, Cynthia Nixon, Denis O’Hare, and Anna Paquin. Lauren worked as production consultant on season one Killjoys.
The Hollywood Reporter named Lauren one of 15 Talents to Watch in their Next Gen Canada 2014 edition. Lauren is an alumna of ACE Producers, Trans Atlantic Partners, Bell Media Executive Producer Accelerator Lab, TIFF Studio, Producers Lab at TIFF, Rotterdam Lab, and Berlinale Talent Campus. She is a founding member of the Producer Pledge. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts from UBC with a double major in Film Production and History and attended the Canadian Film Centre’s Producers Lab. She is currently attending UBC (optional residency) for her MFA in Creative Writing..
